Jackson was born and raised in South Dakota. He moved to North Dakota to study and complete his bachelor's degree. He is now living in Montreal, QC where he completed his master's degree in piano. Jackson comes from a relatively conservative area where being gay was a bit taboo. He came out in his teens and found support in his peers. Today, he talks with lightness and humor about what he went through during his childhood.
